Midterm Elections 2026: What You Need to Know, fox and neighbors at the polls

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Before deciding how to vote, start with your own sample ballot and the Clay County Supervisor of Elections. Your residential address determines the contests on your ballot and your assigned Election Day polling place. An Orange Park mailing address alone does not identify every electoral district.

Start with the official checklist

Visit clayelections.gov to check your registration, find your precinct and review your sample ballot. Use the official Early Voting Sites page for current locations and hours. Check the Supervisor of Elections’ instructions for vote-by-mail requests, return deadlines, identification and accessibility assistance. Do not rely on an old polling-place address or a social-media screenshot. For help, contact mail@ClayElections.gov or (904) 269-6350.

The District 2 county commission race

The official Clay County candidate register lists Leroy Edwards (Democratic) and Lolita Smoak (Republican) as qualified candidates for County Commissioner District 2 in the November 3 election. Check your own sample ballot to confirm your eligibility to vote in this contest.

For Foxridge, the useful questions are local: how would each candidate approach drainage, road maintenance, pedestrian safety, neighborhood infrastructure and communication with residents? A meaningful answer should identify a proposed action, the responsible agency, a funding approach and a realistic timetable. A commissioner works through a board and with other agencies; a campaign promise is not an approved county project.

Midterm Elections 2026 — Candidate interviews & updates

Candidate interviews are published in the order that complete responses and publication authorizations are received. Candidates who submit first may therefore appear first. This is solely a matter of publication timing and does not indicate preference, endorsement or editorial priority for any candidate. Candidates seeking the same office receive the same core questions, word limits and deadline. Keep checking this Midterm Elections 2026 page as it is updated to read every published interview and follow the latest additions.
